The service is there, and it definitely runs latex on my equation, but the text just disappears and no image appears in its place. Start up the applescript then the slideshow, and when the slide with "action" in the notes is visible, the applescript will pick up it up and do whatever you set it to do. This works perfectly in Pages - I write the equation, select it, and hit my keyboard shortcut to call Latexit, which runs latex and returns an image and places it inline in the text. So create a keynote and put "action" in the notes of one slide. Here you can store a trigger string, ie "action". Change the view to "Show Presenter Notes"). I found a way round it thanks to this guy's script: įor each slide in Keynote you get the option to attach invisible notes (not the yellow stickies, its a text box at the bottom of the page. (Don't have enough reputation to answer my own question, so I'll just stick it here.) You'll need to make similar changes to let Pages 7.2 and Numbers 5.2 work with MathType. Is there a way to detect what slide is showing in a keynote presentation (using applescript)?Īnd yes, I am aware of how to change slides with applescript, I just need to detect what slide is already active. You can now close Keynote, and delete the old version. When you do that, you'll get a similar dialog telling you that "MathType wants access to control Keynote". Type anything inside MathType and close the window to insert the expression/equation into Keynote. After you do that, MathType will open. You'll get a pop-up telling you "Keynote wants access to control MathType". This works because the inset equation is actually a PDF vector graphic. Insert a MathType equation (not by copy & paste you have to go through Keynote's Insert menu). If I dont like the size of this formula, I can drag it to scale it as large as I like.If the version of Keynote is 7.0 or earlier, this option won't be in Preferences. but even more so in this type of work this is the keynote to success. Run the older version of Keynote and change the Preferences to insert equations from MathType. Portrait artists do not put their final finishing touches on a portrait until.I recommend putting it anywhere other than Applications I put it on the Desktop when I worked through these steps. You can always get 8.2 from the App Store again once these steps are complete. If you do, or if the download doesn't give you any other option, that's OK. You don't need to install this version of Keynote.Time Machine is an option, but not everyone (myself included) uses TM. Apple doesn't make earlier versions available, and 3rd party sites are quite often shady, and most of the others merely link to the App Store. Trouble with this step is finding some place to download it from. I tried it with 6.2.2, but I imagine anything from 6.0 through 8.1 will work. Download an earlier version of Keynote.I'll spare all the why & wherefore, but do this to get it working. There's nothing we can do about that except by way of permanent workaround (meaning that you have to do something once, and the fix is as permanent as Apple's future updates allow it to be). The short of it is that the combination of Mojave and Keynote 8.2 doesn't work with MathType.
